Three demo albums of Aiken's vocals were created before American Idol with the aid of studio time given as a birthday gift by his mother:
a cassette called Look What Love Has Done (by Clayton Grissom),
a cassette and CD entitled Redefined(by Clayton Aiken), and
a CD that combined some songs from each of the previous demos:
"Look What Love Has Done, Vol 2"(by Clay Aiken).

in his personal blog Clay A wrote:
"My dear friend, Jaymes, and I are so excited to announce
the birth of Parker Foster Aiken" Aiken's son was born August 8, 2008
in North Carolina.

The child's mother is Jaymes Foster, the sister of record producer David Foster.
She has been the executive producer of Aiken's last three albums.
"The little man is healthy, happy, and as loud as his daddy," Aiken wrote.
"Mama Jaymes is doing quite well also." Aiken said in his book,

Learning to Sing: Hearing the Music in Your Life,
that "It's a Southern tradition to be given your first name
from your grandmama's maiden name."
His middle name came from his paternal grandmother's maiden name,
using instead the married surnames of their mothers,
he and Foster followed that tradition in choosing their son's name.

After several years of public speculation,
Aiken confirmed that he is gay in a September 2008
interview with People magazine.

"Clay Aiken confesses he is gay in the October 6 issue of People, on newsstands this Thursday"

Clay tenderly cuddles with his infant son Parker Foster Aiken, conceived with the help of surrogate mom, record producer Jaymes Foster, 50, on the cover of the celebrity weekly. Beside the handsome pair, a headline broadcasts the worst kept secret in Hollywood, Yes, I’m Gay.

"It was the first decision I made as a father," Aiken, 29, tells the upcoming issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday. "I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things. I wasn't raised that way, and I'm not going to raise a child to do that."
Clay says of his courageous decision to come out.

Aiken says he expects the news may overwhelm some of his fans. "Whether it be having a child out of wedlock, or whether it be simply being a homosexual, it's going to be a lot," said Aiken, who returned to Broadway last week as Sir Robin in Monty Python's Spamalot.

He adds that he hopes his fans "know that I've never intended to lie to anybody at all. ... But if they leave, I don't want them to leave hating me."

How He Came Out to His Family

The born-again Christian singer also reveals how he told his mother Faye he's gay four years ago. After dropping off his younger brother Brett, who was being deployed to Iraq, at Camp Lejeune, "I started crying in the car," Aiken remembers. "It was dark. I was sitting there, thinking to myself. I don't know why I started thinking about it ... I just started bawling. She made me pull over the car and it just came out."

So what was his mom's reaction? "She started crying. She was obviously somewhat stunned. But she was very supportive and very comforting." Even now, Aiken admits, "She still struggles with things quite a bit, but she's come a long way."

As for his own child, Aiken tells PEOPLE that Parker – who was conceived via in vitro fertilization with his best friend, music producer Jaymes Foster – will be raised in an environment that is "accepting and allowing him to be happy."

Says Aiken: "I have no idea if he'll be gay or straight. It's not something I'll have anything to do with, or that he'll have anything to do with. It's already probably up inside the code there ... No matter what the situation you're in, if you're raised in a loving environment, that's the most important thing."

Televicion:
he appeared in numerous television specials during the winter of 2003, including Disney's Christmas Day Parade and the Nick At Nite Holiday Special.

12 December 2004 : A Clay Aiken Christmas
4 july 2004 : A Capitol Fourth (Washington DC)

The difference between fiction and reality? Fiction has to make sense, and fiction is the truth inside the lie,
There was never a good biography of a good novelist. There couldn't be. He is too many people if he's any good. To understand reality is not the same as to know about outward events. It is to perceive the essential nature of things and imagination is the living power also prime agent of all human perception.
The heart has its reasons which reason knows not of.
